Tuskegee Airman Memorial
Aviation Way, Walterboro, SC 29488

Next, we visited the Tuskegee Airman Memorial at Aviation Way in Walterboro, SC.

These two stops really created an awesome welcome and transition for me into the grand state of my new life in North Carolina.

En route to my final destination, we made several more stops in Myrtle Beach to include a helicopter ride, my first visit to a wax museum, and we had a fabulous lunch at Pier 14 on the beach.

The supposedly 8 hour trip took us a WHOOPING 15 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We started at 6a and arrived at 9p!!! I was DEVASTATED! Lawd a mercy! I don’t have a clue how my careful planning ended up waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy outta my mind’s view, but hey! What does it matter? We had a great leisurely trip and experienced many wonderful things along the way. I’ve been saying that I am glad I did it that way, but that I would not do it that way again if I had a do-over, yet as I write this post… I probably would do it the same way if I could. I would take my time. I would get lost in time, and I would be a-okay with that in the end.

I think that’s a good summary of how my life has happened for the past several years anyway. Things I’d planned and put on a timeline happened nothing like my mind’s view. I got caught up and distracted by my own limited view of certain events and often missed the value of where the road had taken me and how. I missed the moment to enjoy the leisure that life tried so hard to provide. I made a project out of everything and found little benefit in resting easy.

Well, I’m off that train now and I moved to a space in life where I must find benefit in the casual things, in the breath-taking, time-extending benefits of the journey that God has placed me on. If I don’t, I’ll not be able to create unforgettable experiences along the way and invite others along for the ride.

So, I guess instead of saying I moved… I guess I find more benefit in saying, “When I moved, you moved.”

Just like that.
